Types of Beverages

Fermented - yeast reacts with sugar to convert into ethyl alcohol & CO2. 4-14% Wine (red, white & rose), Cider (Apple juice),  Perry(pear juice).

Stilled Wine : CO2 is allowed to escape during fermentation.
Red - black grapes with skin. Best room temp 16C
Rose - red grapes (or mix white). Skin is allowed until color obtained. Best 8C
White - white grapes (or black skin off grapes). Best 8C

Sparkling Wine: CO2 not allowed to escape.
Champagne - Best 6C

Fortified Wine : Still wine + Brandy. 15-24% Al
Sherry
Port
Madeira
Marsala


Brewed & Fermented - soaking & boiling grain with hot water. malts are mashed. Beer (Ales, lagers), Sake

Beer: made from barley malt. 4-10% Al
Lager -originated central Europe, named after German "Lagern" (to store), bottom fermented. 3-6%
Ale - Top fermented, more flavorsome.
Stout - roating the millets to give dark color. Strong malt flavor.
Draft beer - 2 week life. Refrigerated 1-2C.
Diet beer - high Al but low cal

Sake : obtained from Rice . Japanese.

Distilled - separating alcohol with water by boiling. Spirits (whisky, rum, gin, vodka, tequila, brandy), liqueur

Spirits :
Brandy - distilled from grape wine. Flavor Cherry, Peach & Apricot. Best served Room temp. Cognac famous from france.
Gin -  Distilled from cereals & flavored with berries, orange peel, coriander seeds. Holland Gin (distilled twice using pot stilling method)and London Dry gin types( first patent stiller, second pot stiller).
Whisky - distilled from fermented barley, corn gives amber color.
Types Scotch, Irish, Canadian, American, Bourbon, Japanese, Indian.
Tequila - Originated from mexico, distilled from fermented juice of Agave Tequilana Weber
Rum - distilled from molasses(dark sugar byproduct of sugarcane) or sugarcane.
white or light - very light flavor, used in cocktails, 
Golden - aged in charred oak barrels, strong flavor, 
Dark - black or red. Aged in charred oak barrels, strong & sweeter. 
Spiced - spices like cinnamon, rosemary, pepper
Flavored - infused with banana, coconut, citrus
Vodka - distilled from barley, corn, ray potatoes. clear, taste less odder less. Originated from Russia. National drink of Russia and Spain. Mixed with Orange juice.
Neutral - distilled from grains or potato juice. 
Flavored - orange etc
